As they complete them, you check it off & it automatically deposits money into their “virtual wallet” which they can redeem at any of their 25 affiliated partners including Target, GameStop, & Walmart. Get the heck outta here. Hello. Wham, bam, thank you ma’am. This means no more begging your kids to do chores. Let’s all jump up and down with glee. GOODNIGHT.

Instead of just emailing photos of your kids to their grand parents, let’s take it back to the 90’s and actually use the pony express to deliver a real life photo card to them. With this app, you can take a photo on your phone, sign it, add a border, and send to an address. You just pay for the postage, & the company mails it for your in the mail. Think about how easy this makes sending Holiday photo cards??!! GENIUSSSSSS.

4. ShopSavvy

Stop it. Just get out of here right now. Scan any barcode on your phone & this app will show you where (if anywhere) they are selling the product for cheaper, local and online. GAME CHANGER. I can’t breathe.

5. Grocery Gadget

There are so many things you can do with this app, I find myself short of breath just thinking about it. You can share lists, SYNC them while shopping with your partner (imagine a world where you don’t end up at the checkout with 2 loaves of bread. HORROR), and also this freakishly smart app memorizes which items are on specific aisles. GASP.

Charcoal Teeth Whitening Experiment Results!

By RaddestMom

As I promised, here are my results from doing the charcoal teeth whitening experiment. After one go at it, I didn’t see much of a difference, granted, I had pretty white teeth to begin with ( I don’t drink coffee, tea, or soda). Something that I did notice was how clean my teeth and mouth felt afterwards. It felt like I’d been to the dentist for a teeth cleaning. I think doing this a couple of times a week could be something I’d be into. I’m not sure how much of an effect it would have on someone with less white teeth to begin with. I’ll keep using for a couple of weeks and do an update. If you want to try it, it can’t hurt :)

Tips on how to do this:

  • Have a paper towel handy for your black drool, you don’t want to wipe it on a towel..this stuff stains!
  • Spit away from the grout in your sink to prevent staining.
  • Do this when the kids go to bed, and wear a robe over your clothes incase it gets messy.
  • The charcoal will slightly stain your toothbrush.

I emptied the capsule of charcoal into the bottle cap, dipped my tooth brush in, and brushed! Left it on for 2 minutes. The results are lacking amazingness, but my teeth felt clean after. SO, there’s that.

I’m slightly weirded out about posting such a close up shot of my grill on the world wide web, almost feels weirder than posting a naked photo of myself, but whatevers. Let’s just say it’s in the name of science!!!

p.s. photos of grill are not edited or color corrected, so booyah

Want Whiter Teeth Without The Burn???

By RaddestMom

I’ve gone to the dark side. If you want whiter teeth, you first, have to go dark…and what I mean by dark is, CHARCOAL dark.

Ever heard of activated charcoal? It comes in powder form, tablets, and capsules. It’s an old school remedy for food poisoning, and pumping toxins out of the body. Hospitals still use it to pump peoples’ stomachs with. It’s highly absorbent (supposedly can hold 500 times it’s weight) & is thought to absorb and eliminate toxins. Some say you should always have activated charcoal in your house incase of poison ingestion.

How does this pertain to teeth, you may ask? Well, the idea is that the charcoal will pull toxins out of the mouth & gums as well as remove stains from the teeth. Sounds crazy, right? Considering that the charcoal itself is HIGHLY staining, meaning don’t let it touch anything in your house or it will be stained black forever and ever. Will it stain your teeth? No. It’s magic.

Here is what you do:

Take an activated charcoal tablet and chew it up a little (loose enough to be brushed and rubbed on your teeth), or dip your toothbrush in activated charcoal powder. Brush all over the teeth softly for about 2 minutes. Rinse, spit, and make sure to not get it into any of the grout around your sink….CAREFUL! Your mouth will feel amazing, clean, and your teeth should be a couple shades whiter. The great thing about this is that it’s safe, and it won’t harm the enamel on your teeth like commercial whiteners and bleaches. It’s not masking the stains, it’s actually removing them. Use as often as needed! If you really wanna take the remineralization of your teeth to the next level, follow this procedure with Oil Pulling! Swish some coconut oil through your mouth and teeth for 5 minutes for maximum effect of whitening, replenishing, and oral health.

Here are some before and after pics from the internet. Don’t be intimidated by the black teeth!

Lisa O’s Top 6 Organic, Affordable Skin Care Products!

By RaddestMom

It’s 2014, and by now, we know that most of our favorite beauty products are latent with chemicals that are going to seep into our skin and eventually do bad things to us. Right? Knowing that, I still have had a hard time getting rid of some of my tried and true products I’ve used over the years, even if I knew they were laced with parabens and phthalates.

I’ve finally found a healthy balance. The general rule I like to stick to is: Anything I put on my face daily cannot contain harmful chemicals, as well as anything I put over a large surface area of skin (body lotion, specifically). Sure, I get the occasional lactic peel, and I don’t really worry about whatever is in it since it’s something I do not do often. You’ve got to find your healthy balance between “too much” and “never”. Gradually switching out your daily routine products for organic stuff can be intimidating, but since these products I’ll show you are relatively inexpensive, it’s much less of a blow to your bank account if it doesn’t work for you! If anything is a sure bummer, it’s buying an $80 face cream that doesn’t work. Here are some of my favorite, inexpensive, safe-for-everyday-use skin care products!

 1. Avalon Organics Co-Q10 Repair Wrinkle Defense Night Cream $15.99

Screen Shot 2014-06-05 at 1.03.56 PM Avalon Organics has been on my list for years. They use 70% organic ingredients in their products, and the other 30% is nothing shady. Tip: use twice as much product on your skin before you go to bed. During the night, most of our face cream transfers to the pillow, so don’t be scared to slather it up!

2. Acure Organics Argan Oil $10

Screen Shot 2014-06-05 at 1.11.13 PMI’ve been using Argan Oil for a couple of years now. I got into it when I first purchased the name brand $40 bottle from a well-known beauty supply retailer. Trust me, this stuff is just as good as the fancy brand stuff. I LOVE using oils to make my skin LESS oily. I know, it sounds crazy, but using proper oils on your skin actually fights excessive oiliness. It is also great for the hair and nails. A little bit goes a long way.

3. Nubian Heritage African Black Soap $4.49

Screen Shot 2014-06-05 at 1.24.44 PMI just discovered Black Soap about a year ago, and I’m so hooked. It is the only thing that takes off my makeup in one fell swoop. Can be used on face as well as body. It is great for problem breakouts, and oily skin. It can be a bit drying, so be sure to balance it out with some hydrating cream. Every time we wash our face, we strip it of oils and moisture. It is imperative to follow washing with lots of moisturizer!

4. Now Solutions European Clay Powder $5.29

I ditched the pre-made masks long ago, and have been using powdered clay masks ever since. I love that this is just PURE clay. You mix it with water, form into a paste, and spread onto the skin. When it hardens, you wipe it off. Simplicity at its finest. It gives your skin a wonderful glow that is noticeable immediately.

5. Avalon Organics Vitamin C Facial Renewal Cream SPF 15 $12.99

Screen Shot 2014-06-05 at 1.34.46 PM

I already spilled the beans on my favorite Avalon Organics night cream, so here is my favorite day cream. It has an SPF 15 in it, which is great, but it also contains vitamin C which really helps with cell turn over and keeps you looking your brightest. It works great for all skin types & doesn’t get greasy, so it works great under makeup.

6. The Naked Bee Honey & Orange Blossom Body & Hand Lotion $9.00

Screen Shot 2014-06-05 at 1.44.25 PM

Time to throw away that old bottle of Jergens & start treating your skin right! The Naked Bee’s motto is “All of the good stuff, none of the bad stuff.” This lotion contains so many nourishing oils that your skin will drink it up & not have a chemical hangover afterwards. I’ve used it for a few months now, and I love the way It smells and feels on my skin.

Share and Enjoy!
